OPP have arrested a 50-year-old Leamington woman Saturday morning after breaking into a residence on Elliott Street.

OPP say that at approximately 7:20am the occupants of the house were awakened by loud noises. Upon checking, the owner of the house met the female suspect in the kitchen.

He attempted to hold onto her while his wife called police but she was able to run from the residence.

While police were en-route, they stopped a female on a bike.

When police got to the home, the two occupants were able to provide them with a detailed description of the suspect who matched the description of the female on the bike that they just spoken to.

Police attended her home where she was arrested. She is charged with break and enter and was released to appear in court in Leamington on September 5th.

Nothing was taken from the home and no one was injured.
