Just before 2am this morning, Chatham-Kent OPP received a traffic complaint about a vehicle that was driving erratically on the 401 Highway eastbound near Merlin Town Line.

The vehicle a 2012 Audi was stopped after it was clocked speeding at 133 km/hr.

Police say that the driver was showing signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. Alcohol test at Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters revealed that the driver was nearly double the legal limit.

55-year-old Gregory Heckel from Fort Erie has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, exceed 80 milligrams blood alcohol content and speeding.
