Police in Chatham-Kent continue to investigate after shots were fired at a residence early this morning.

Police say that just after 1am, a woman from Lansdowne Avenue in Chatham thought she heard someone throwing rocks at her front window. As she checked her window, she found bullet holes in her door instead.

Police were called and flooded the area, but no one was found.

Police say that they believe this was not a random act of violence.

There were two adults and one small child in the residence at the time of the incident, and no one was injured. Damage to the door has been estimated at about $1,000.

The incident remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Service Major Crime Unit. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Shawn Mungar at 519-519-436-6600 extension #288. Anonymous callers may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and may be eligible for a cash reward.
