Windsor Police say that they will be out in full force this long weekend on both land and water to ensure everyone has a safe and fun time.

The Windsor Police Traffic Enforcement Unit say that they will be conducting R.I.D.E. programs in several locations throughout the city and recomend that if you are planning any celebrations this weekend to  plan ahead.   Arrange for a designated driver or for a cab ride home.

The Windsor Police Marine Unit will be conducting a “Hooked on lifejackets” campaign all weekend. This initiative is in conjunction with the Canadian Safe Boating Council’s operation Dry Water campaign.

The Marine Unit will be patrolling our waterways to ensure that vessels and occupants have proper approved safety equipment on board. A primary part of this focus will be for proper approved floatation devices.

Floatation devices must be approved to be worn in Canada. The Marine Unit will also be looking for alcohol infractions on our waterways.
