Windsor Police have two suspects in custody in relation to an assault and robbery captured on surveillance video on August 1st.

A University of Windsor student was walking eastbound on Wyandotte Street West near Rankin Avenue when he was confronted by two black males.

Police say the video showed three males on the corner of Rankin and Wyandotte approximately an hour before the assault took place.

Staff Sergeant Chris Dupuis says the video shows a male with a white shirt punching the victim once to the mouth, breaking his jaw.

The fight continued until the two males were successful in pulling the computer bag from the victim’s shoulder.

Dupuis says a third male was seen earlier but was not involved in the robbery.

Sergeant Pamela Mizuno says tips from the public allowed police to identify the two suspects. One of the males was arrested by police officers on Sunday, August 11th, and the second male turned himself in at Police HQ on Monday, August 12th.
