The International Children’s Games take over Windsor-Essex this week.

Here are some fun facts about the games!

  • Subway restaurants will serve up 8,000 6-inch sandwiches.  That’s over 13 soccer fields in length.
  • Koolini will cook up pasta for more than 3,000 people at the closing ceremony.
  • Milk, juice and water will b served to 1,500+ athletes daily.
  • 0 carbonated sodas will be served.
  • 12,000 local volunteers and team ambassadors will welcome athletes and help visitors.
  • BASF Canada will distribute 5,000 refillable water bottles.
  • 150 gold, 150 silver and 166 bronze medals will be awarded.
  • 10,599,153 500mL water bottles would fill the Aquatics Centre pool.
