Windsor Police are investigating a home invasion robbery where a tree branch was used as a weapon.

Police were called to the 1200 block of High Street around 1:30am this morning.

Officers spoke with the victim who indicated that he was home sleeping when he heard a knock on his door. Police say he thought it might be someone that he knew so he opened the door. As he opened the door 2 males rushed inside the residence.

According to authorities, the suspects were demanding drugs from the victim. One of the males was armed with a box cutter knife and the second male was armed with a tree branch. Both suspects had their faces covered. The suspects forced the victim into a bathroom and began searching the residence.

The suspects left with a small amount of prescription narcotics and a small amount of cash.

After the suspects fled, the victim went to a neighbour and asked him to call police.

The victim received several small cuts on his hands and fingers during the altercation. His injuries are considered to be non life threatening.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 25-30 years of age, approximately 5’10” and 160 lbs. This suspect wore a bandana or scarf over his face and a baseball cap on his head. He was armed with the knife.

The second suspect is described as a white male, 28-32 years of age, approximately 6′ and 180 lbs. This suspect wore a mask described only as a “flame retardant racing style mask you wear under a helmet.”
