The Windsor Classic is making a return to Riverside Drive this December pending City Council approval.
If approved, the event is slated to take part before Christmas this year on December 21st and 22nd. This way, organizers say it will not conflict with planned activities in Detroit for the NHL Winter Classic.
The two day street hockey game is centered around the rivalry between the Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs, with each registered team choosing to represent one of the two teams.
There are three simultaneous 45 minute games taking place every hour, with games organized by age group.
One cumulative score for all games will determine the winner.
If approved, registration will open up late on this year.
