Windsorites will be able to catch top prospects of the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche in action at the WFCU Centre on Sunday September 29th at 7:05pm when the Lake Erie Monsters take on the Grand Rapids Griffins in an AHL pre-season match up.

The event put on in partnership by the Windsor Spitfires and the WFCU Centre facility management company Global Spectrum as well as the respective AHL teams will give hockey fans in Windsor the opportunity to see professional hockey for the first time ever at the WFCU Centre. Spitfires General Manager Warren Rychel spoke on the event “We’re very excited to be hosting this event. It’s a great opportunity for local fans to get a look at some great pro hockey”.

Global Spectrum’s General Manager of Events, Jason Toner also commented on the game “We’ve hosted a number of great hockey events outside of Spitfire games but this game gives fans the unique opportunity to see professional hockey at the WFCU Centre and prospects that might be on the ice at Joe Louis Arena this season. We hope it opens the door to other neutral site professional hockey exhibition games in the future.”

Tickets for the game will go on sale Friday August 30 at 10am, and will cost $11.75 and will be available online at wfcu-centre.com, by phone at 1-866-969-WFCU(9328), or at the Teksavvy Box Office located at Gate 2 of the WFCU Centre.
