On Tuesday July 9th, just before 1am, Windsor Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Curry Avenue for a break and enter.

The residents came home and discovered that the front door was open. Upon looking inside the house a suspect was observed moving stereo speakers. The homeowner screamed at the suspect and he fled out the back door.

Officers attending the area observed a male running in the 400 block of Curry Avenue. A K-9 Unit was deployed and quickly picked up on a scent. The K-9 tracked to the rear yard of a residence in the 400 block of Curry Avenue. The K-9 began barking at some bushes by a chain link fence. The dog handler used a flashlight and could see the suspect hiding on the opposite side of the fence. The suspect was ordered not to move. The suspect began to run across the rear yard.

After warning the suspect, the handler sent the K-9. K-9 Vegas jumped the fence and apprehended the suspect. The Suspect was placed under arrest for break and enter. He was transported by ambulance to hospital for treatment to puncture wounds to his left arm.

Laurent Brown, 39 years of age, is charged with Break and Enter.

The investigation continued yesterday afternoon and officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. As a result of the search, officers recovered various items of stolen property. Brown is facing additional charges of Possession of Stolen Property.
