Leamington OPP have busted a “sophisticated marijuana growing operation”.

On Monday July 29th, police executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant in the 1000 block of Mersea Road 6, in Leamington. Upon entry, Police discovered a sophisticated marijuana growing operation. Numerous rooms in the residence had been constructed and modified to facilitate the commercial marijuana grow operation.

Police seized in excess of 100 marijuana plants and over 2 kilograms of cultivated marijuana. Police also seized a substantial quantity of cannabis resin oil, and psilocybin, along with equipment used in the commercial production of marijuana. Police also located and seized a long gun and a quantity of ammunition.

A 31 year old Leamington male has been charged with the following offences Production of marijuana, Possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana, Possession for the purpose of trafficking cannabis resin, Possession for the purpose of trafficking psilocybin, Possession of marijuana, Possession of synthetic cannabis without prescription, Occupant injure building, Unauthorized possession of firearm, Unauthorized possession of firearm with ammunition, Unsafe storage of firearm, and Tampering with firearm serial number.
