Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a child luring investigation.

On July 8th, a citizen turned in an iPhone and complained that the device contained images of child pornography. The Internet Child Exploitation Unit took possession of the device and contacted the reported owner.

On July 15th, the owner of the phone was interviewed. He provided a statement that identified the victims and implicated himself in two separate incidents of luring. The victims were contacted and interviewed. These interviews corroborated the information that had already been received from the man.

As a result of this investigation, Daniel Armand Marchand, 36 years, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of luring a child, 2 counts of Accessing Child Pornography and 2 counts of Possessing Child Pornography. He was released from custody with several conditions pending a future court date.

In addition to the iPhone, a laptop computer and a desktop computer were seized for further analysis.
