The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit says that one in twelve people worldwide are infected with viral hepatitis B or C and many have no obvious symptoms until serious liver damage has occurred.

This is the kind of information being provided by the Windsor Essex Community Health Centre Hepatitis C Treatment and Support Team and the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, who are teaming up for a day of free food, games, prizes, and hepatitis information this Thursday.

The event will be held this at Fred Thomas Park, located at 344 Wyandotte Street East from 11am to 3pm.

A group of popular music artists divulged their hepatitis C status and gave permission to the World Hepatitis Alliance to be included in the hepatitis C playlist. That CD will be playing at the event.
