A nearly two-year-old boy has been air lifted to Sick Children’s Hospital in London after being found with no vital signs in a pond.

Essex OPP Sergeant Ricardo Tonial says officers and paramedics responded around 5pm this evening to a backyard pond on Clithrow Street in Harrow where a 23-month-old boy had fallen into a pond.

The child had no vital signs when he was found.

Tonial says the child and his family were visiting from Brunswick Ohio and had earlier attended a Christian gathering at a Harrow church.

Tonial says there were various activities at the gathering, and kids and adults were mingling, when the father noticed that he could not locate his child. After approximately 15 minutes of searching the father and family located the child in a backyard at a property abutting the church.

The 23 month Ohio boy is currently on life-support at Sick Children’s Hospital in London. The OPP are currently investigating and are not releasing names at this time.
