A 21-year-old man who was looking to buy a cellphone was assaulted a robbed on Tuesday.

Police were called to the 1600 block of Moy around 7:20pm Tuesday. Police say the man went online to arrange to buy a cellphone and set up a meeting with a seller.

He eventually met with the seller at a house on Moy and Police say he became leery when the seller wanted to walk around the back of an apartment building. The victim followed anyway and there he encountered two other males.

Police say the male selling a phone showed the victim a phone however it was not the phone he was looking at buying. The suspect then punched the victim, knocking him to the ground.

Police say the suspect and his accomplices stole the victim’s wallet and iPhone before fleeing.

They are described as being three black males, late teens, in the 5′-10″ – 6′ range in height, wearing red and white basketball style clothing.

Anyone who may know these individuals or may have seen them in this area are asked to call police or call Crime Stoppers.
