Chatham-Kent police say that just before 8pm Thursday night, they were called to an accident involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor on Middle Line west of Merlin.

Police say that the driver of the passenger vehicle, a 29-year-old Tilbury man, allegedly attempted to pass the tractor and entered the oncoming traffic lane where he observed a vehicle approaching. He swerved back and collided with the tractor.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 Milligrams Blood Alcohol Content.

He has been released by way of a promise to appear with a future court date. There were no injuries resulting from the collision.
