WFCU Centre Named One Of The World’s “Top Stop” Venues

The WFCU Centre has been listed as a “Top Venue Worldwide” by Venues Today, a music venue industry magazine.

The magazine released its annual Mid-Year Top Stops list and identified the WFCU Centre as the #3 International “Top Stop” from a period of October 2012 through May 2013.

“As event operators of the WFCU, Global Spectrum is quite proud of this accomplishment,” said Global Spectrum’s Jason Toner, General Manager of Events for the WFCU Centre. “To be recognized internationally shows how far the facility has come since opening our doors, and also a symbol of the opportunities this facility has. The title is a reflection of both the outstanding community support the facility has seen, and the hard work that our staff put in to each event.”

On the list, the WFCU Centre finished higher than any other Canadian facility in its category (5,000 – 10,000 capacity).

Venues Today releases their Top Stops rankings bi-annually, showcasing the top 20 venues around the world in various categories and is based on concert and non-tenant sport event gross sales and attendance.

During the highlighted period for which the WFCU Centre received its honours, artists Neil Young and Carrie Underwood arrived to sold-out shows.

The arena will celebrate its fifth birthday this December.
