Windsor Police say that an alleged drunk driver should have stayed in her cab instead of attempting to drive Sunday morning.

Police say that just beofre 4:30, a 22-year-old woman who — Police say was clearly intoxicated — got into a cab in the west end of Windsor and was taken downtown where she exited her cab and then got into her 2002 Jeep Liberty and drove away.

The cab driver called police and followed the woman who was reported to be driving through red lights.

Police located the vehicle and watched the Jeep weaving back and fourth as she drove down the street.

The Jeep was stopped and the the officers arrested woman for impaired driving and brought her to headquarters for a breathalyzer.

Police report that she ended up registering a reading nearly three times the legal limit and is facing charges of impaired driving and exceeding the breathalyzer. He car was also impounded for seven days.
