Tonight, the 55th annual Ford Fireworks presented by Target lit up the Windsor/Detroit river and sky.

The Windsor Health Centre – also known as the “700 Medical Building” – opened up their vacant parking lot every year for the colourful show.

Patrons gathered with their friends and family, lawn chairs and snacks; at approximately 10:06pm, radios were turned on at high volume in their cars, tuned into AM 760 to hear the soundtrack of the night, while patiently wait for the first spark.

Jessica Barrus, 26, has been going to the lot for as long as she can remember with her family. She stated she enjoys the lot better because not only is she closer to home, but “likes to avoid the hustle and bustle of Downtown on this night.”
