UPDATE: Windsor Fire says the cause of the blaze could not be determined nor could the location inside the salon where the fire started.

Windsor firefighters have extinguished a multi-business blaze in the 700 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Fire broke out just after 7pm and neighbours noticed smoke venting out of an air conditioner at the front of the building.

Fire crews arrived and brought the blaze inside the hair/nail salon under control after residents in the apartments above were evacuated.

Once the fire was out, firefighters entered the neighbouring jewelry store to check if the fire had spread. Firefighters opened the front door and vented a large quantity of smoke from the business.

By 9pm the fire was out. There are no injuries reported. An inspector has been called to the scene to investigate.
