Based on water samples taken on June 26th by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit swimming is not recommended at Cedar Island Beach in Kingsville, Northwest Beach at Point Pelee, Sandpoint Beach in Windsor, and West Belle River Beach in Lakeshore.

Cedar Beach in Kingsville, Colchester Beach in Essex, Holiday Beach in Amherstburg, Lakeside Beach in Kingsville, and Seacliff Beach in Leamington are closed because the bacteria has reached a health hazard level of more than 1000.

The only safe beach for swimming is Hillman Beach in Leamington.
