An alleged impaired driver faces charges after hitting a parked van Thursday night.

Police say around 11:20pm they were called to the area of Pillette and Milloy in the city’s east end.

Witnesses told police that they saw a Chrysler northbound on Pillette, it swerved into the east curb and then swerved the other way into the parked van.

Police spoke with the 36-year-old female driver from Windsor and could detect that she was under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and brought to police headquarters and given a breath test. Police report that she registered just over two times the legal limit. She is facing charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceeding the breathalyzer.

A 2003 Dodge Caravan which was parked had received about $1,000 damage. The womans vehicle a Chrysler 200 received about $4,000 dollars damage. No one was injured.
