UPDATE: “Fake Cops Didn’t Identify As ‘Windsor Police'”

Windsor Police are investigating after three men, who allegedly posed as police officers, roughed up a teenage male and took his bike.

Police say that just after 10pm Saturday, a 16-year-old was riding his friend’s ten speed bike southbound on Drouillard road heading home. The teen had issues with his bike, so stopped to fix the problem.

As the teen was fixing his bike, a dark green Chevy Impala, possibly late 1990’s, pulled up beside him. Three males exited the car and spoke with the victim. The three were dressed as police officers.

One fake cop then began to search the teen and when he realized that the teen had no pockets, he ordered the teen to strip his shirt off.

The fake officer then pushed the teen to the ground and ordered him to leave the area within five minutes or he would be arrested. Before the teen left, he was told to place his disassembled bike into the trunk of the Impala.

The teen left, arrived at home, and told his mother what had occurred.

The stolen bike has the letters “ONDH” on the frame and was blue and white in colour.

The first fake police officer suspect is described as a white male 6′-3″, tall, with a muscular build, in his early 30’s, with stubble on his face, and had short black hair. He was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt with Windsor Police flashes on each arm and dark blue cargo pants with no red stripe on the pant legs. This male is believed to be the driver of the Impala.

The second fake officer is described as a white male, 6′-2″ tall, with a muscular build, in his early 30’s, clean shaven with medium black hair. He was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt with Windsor Police flashes on each arm and dark blue cargo pants with no red stripes on the pant legs.
This male was believed to be the front passenger.

The third fake officer is described as a male black, 6′-0″ tall, with a muscular build, in his early 30’s, clean shaven, with a short black afro. He was wearing a light blue long sleeve shirt with sleeves rolled up with Windsor Police flashes on each arm and dark blue cargo pants with no red stripes on the pant legs. This suspect had the number 0196 on his front left front pocket of his shirt. This male was believed to be seated in the back seat.

Windsor Police say none of the suspects were armed or carried any officially issued equipment that might be seen on a real police officer.

This incident is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Branch and police are advising the public to be aware that there may be persons posing as police officers.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident or who may have witnessed this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers or the Detective office at 519-255-6700 Ext 4830.
