The Essex County OPP arrested two allegedly drunk drivers over the holiday weekend.

On Sunday, May 19th at 3am, OPP pulled over a white Chevrolet pickup truck on the 401 at Essex County Road 25 in Lakeshore.

The driver of the vehicle provided a sample of his breath into a roadside Alcotest device and registered a fail. He was subsequently arrested and charged with Exceed 80 mgs of Blood Alcohol Content.

Richard Tomicic, age 35, of Lakeshore, will appear in court on June 13th.

In Leamington, also on May 19th, OPP officers on general patrol observed a red Chevrolet Malibu travelling eastbound on Setterington Street, fail to stop at a stop sign at Wigle Street. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle which then bumped a curb and continued approximately 100 metres before coming to stop in a driveway on Wigle Street.

The 38 year old Leamington male, then exited the vehicle and exhibited signs of impairment. He was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Exceed 80 mgs of Blood Alcohol Content.

Johan Fehr will appear in a Leamington court on June 6th.
