Windsor Police have set up a 24-hour tip line in relation to Wednesday’s sexual assault in Central Windsor.

The eighteen-year-old girl was sexually assaulted while walking home from work around 10:30pm Wednesday night.

Windsor Police Staff Sergeant Steve Bodri says the teenager was cutting across the front lawn of Kennedy High School toward Jackson Park when she was confronted by a male armed with a knife. Without warning, the male punched the victim in the face, knocking her to the ground. Police say the male then sexually assaulted her.

The suspect fled on foot heading north on Windsor Ave.

The victim contacted police through a family member and was taken to Hospital for medical attention.

Officers were able to locate the knife in the area of the assault.

The suspect is described as: male, possibly First Nations or Hispanic, mid 20s, 5’11” tall, average build, collar length, shiny, jet-black, slicked back hair that was tucked behind the ears, thick dark eyebrows, slightly pock-marked, clean shaven face, wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt, and light coloured shorts.

A 24-hour tip line has been established at WPS Special Victims Unit at 519-255-6700 ext 4305.
