At 6:02pm a severe thunderstorm watch was issued for Windsor, Leamington and Essex County.
Environment Canada says that there is the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail, damaging winds or heavy rainfall.
The main threats with these thunderstorms are damaging wind gusts and torrential downpours. Large hail is a lesser threat.
An isolated tornado is also a slight possibility
