Windsor Police are investigating a sexual assault that took place last evening.

Police say that a 18-year-old female was cutting across the front lawn of Kennedy High School towards Jackson Park around 10:30pm.  She was confronted by a male armed with a knife who sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled on foot heading north on Windsor Avenue.

The victim contacted police through a family member, and was taken to hospital for medical attention.

Police attended the area of the assault and were able to locate the knife.

The suspect is described a male, about  25 to 30 years old, 5′-10″ – 5′-11″ tall, with an average build, he had jet black hair which may have been pulled back.  He had thick dark eyebrows.  He was wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt and shorts.

Police believe that there were two joggers in the area who may have seen this incident and they or anyone else who may have seen this incident are urged to contact the Windsor Police or Crime Stoppers.
