This Saturday, both the Essex County OPP and Chatham-Kent Police will both be taking part in a province-wide public safety initiative to encourage Ontario residents to dispose of old and unused prescription medication in a secure, environmentally-friendly manner.
Anyone wishing to dispose of outdated, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs may do so anonymously at the location nearest them usually without having to get out of their vehicles, with no questions asked.
Essex County OPP will be hosting a collection location on Prescription Drug Drop Off Day at the Leamington OPP Detachment located at 7 Clark Street West in Leamington between the hours of 10am and 3pm.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service will have three locations between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Wallaceburg Service Centre, located at 786 Dufferin Street, Wallaceburg, the Chatham-Kent Criminal Court House, located at 425 Grand Avenue West, and the Chatham and the Tilbury Family Health Team, located at 20 Mill Street West, Tilbury.
