Sunset and Wyandotte as seen in Google Earth

Windsor Police are looking for a red sports car that sped off after allegedly colliding with a cyclist near the University of Windsor.

On Tuesday May 14th at around 8:30pm, a 23-year-old cyclist was stopped at a red light on Wyandotte Street West at Sunset Avenue. Police say the cyclist was in the north lane by the curb and when the light turned green, the cyclist proceeded to pedal her bicycle westbound across the intersection. A red vehicle that was also West on Wyandotte Street West turned Northbound on Sunset Avenue in front of the cyclist. The cyclist struck the passenger door of the vehicle.

The collision caused the cyclist to fall from her bicycle. Police say she sustained scrapes to her right shin and back of her left forearm.

The vehicle is described as being a red sports car with heavy dark tinted windows. The vehicle had a single black stripe in the center of the entire vehicle. The vehicle will likely have some damage to the right side passenger door from the accident.
