Windsor Family Credit Union will be opening a new branch on the campus of the University of Windsor this fall.

WFCU will open in the new Innovation Centre, currently under construction along with the new parking garage on the corner of Wyandotte Street West and California.

The new WFCU campus retail location will offer support for the financial needs of the University of Windsor community and the residents, organizations and businesses of Windsor West.

“It is our pleasure to welcome WFCU to our campus community. WFCU shares our vision to enhance the student experience by offering students unique work placements, special products and services, and opportunities to gain insight into the financial services world,” says Dr. Alan Wildeman, University of Windsor President and Vice Chancellor.

University of Windsor students will have access to WFCU’s complete range of Financial, Insurance, Investment and Trust products and services designed to support them through their student days and beyond. Products include free chequing, savings accounts, short term and long term fixed investments, credit and debit card products, a full range of personal loans, lines of credit and mortgage products and a variety of service delivery channels for access to their funds, at their convenience.

“WFCU is looking forward to bringing our complete range of products and services not only to the students on Campus but to the University staff and the residents in the University area. WFCU has many unique ideas and we look forward to working through a collaborative process for the planning of this retail location,” says Marty Komsa, WFCU President and Chief Executive Officer.

The WFCU will offer the university community access to WFCU’s complete range of Financial, Investment, Insurance and Trust products and services, office setting to meet with WFCU staff to conduct financial business, hours of operation to accommodate the University calendar, an-site ATM with 24-hour access.

A partnership with the International Student Centre to assist International students to set up new accounts to meet their immediate and ongoing needs is also amung the highlights.

A venue for the School of Visual Arts to display its works will also be offered, as well as scholarship opportunities and employment opportunities for University Students.

The University of Windsor’s parking structure and Innovation Centre are located on the south side of Wyandotte Street between California and Sunset Avenues. A second-storey pedestrian bridge will connect these two separate buildings. The seven-level parking garage will accommodate up to 1,000 spaces and will be completed in the fall of 2013. The office building will house WFCU, as well as Campus Community Police, Parking Services and other amenities, with occupancy expected in January 2014.
