UPDATED Wednesday April 24th: Windsor Police named the officer charged last week.

Timothy Kettlewell is charged with Theft under $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property and 2 counts of uttering a forged document. The charges stem from an incident involving found property that was turned over to police.

Windsor Police have arrested and charged one of their officers following allegations of theft.

A 14 year member of the Windsor Police Service was arrested following an investigation by the Windsor Police Service Risk Management Unit this morning.

The officer was released on a Promise to Appear and faces the following pending Criminal Code charges: Theft Under $5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property, and 2 counts of Uttering a Forged Document.

Police say the charges stem from an incident involving found property that was turned over to police.

According to Police, the investigation was carried out as soon as the police service was made aware of the allegation; the officer was arrested within hours of learning his identity.

Under the Police Services Act, the officer has been suspended from duty with pay. Police say the officer’s name is being withheld at this time, pending court.
