Police have arrested two people for allegedly breaking into vehicles near Downtown Windsor.

Windsor Police received a call around 2:30 this morning reporting that two suspicious males were entering vehicles in a parking lot of an apartment building in the 1200 block of Riverside Drive West.

Police observed two males walking in the 500 block of Wellington Avenue who matched a description of the suspects given by the initial caller. As officers approached the males, they were observed pulling on door handles of parked vehicles as they walked Southbound. Officers stopped the males and placed them under arrest without incident.

The males were wearing backpacks that Police say contained property that was taken from vehicles parked in the apartment parking lot on Riverside Drive West.

Two 16 year old youths face charges of Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of Stolen Property. One of the youths had several outstanding arrest warrants.
