The Canada Border Services Agency has seized firearms and magazines at the Ambassador Bridge.

The CBSA says on April 21st a Lasalle, woman arrived at the Ambassador Bridge and was referred for secondary examination. Border services officers say they discovered three undeclared loaded 9mm prohibited firearms and two prohibited high capacity magazines in her vehicle.

The CBSA has charged the woman with Customs Act offences of making false statements, possession of unlawfully imported goods and smuggling.

“This is the direct result of the diligent work of CBSA officers who use their examination skills, as well as overall training, to detect smuggling attempts.” said Rick Comerford, Regional Director General of the CBSA’s Southern Ontario Region.

The CBSA is reminding all travellers that they are required to answer all questions truthfully and declare all goods they are bringing into Canada, including firearms and weapons in their possession. The CBSA reminds that failure to declare goods, including firearms, and other Customs Act contraventions may lead to prosecution.
