Essex Declares Three Buildings Unsafe, Occupants Asked To Vacate Immediately

Three business on Tablot Street North in Essex Centre have been closed due to unsafe conditions.

Town officials said in a release that based on a structural assessments and a details analysis, they have determined that 47, 49 and 51 Talbot Street North must be closed.

The three affected businesses are Deluxe Restaurant, 1st Defense School of Martial Arts and 2 Waves Day Spa.

The occupants were asked to vacate their buildings immediately.

The town said their decision was based on concerns about unsafe conditions following an incident on April 4th when a large panel of stucco at 49 Talbot fell and landed onto the roof of 47 Talbot.

The town said they hope for a quick resolution to the matter, so the three businesses can re-open.
