A new video was launched Tuesday looking at manufacturing in Windsor-Essex.

Highlighting the educational, training and employment opportunities for those seeking to enter the sector, Breaking the Mold: Manufacturing in Windsor-Essex was created by Workforce WindsorEssex and directed by local talent Sasha Jordan Appler of ApplerFilm, with the assistance of several employers and community partners.

“Developing a video was necessary,” said Veronica Samek, director of communications for WFWE. “As technology changes and the world of work in manufacturing shifts with economic demand, we needed an up-to-date view of the opportunities locally and the evolving skills necessary for obtaining careers in manufacturing. This includes providing information to attract the next generation, preferably one that likes working with their hands with a high aptitude in math.”

The ten minute video features local employers including Laval Tool & Mold, Platinum Tool Technologies and Reko International Group Inc.
