In anticipation of hosting the 47th Annual International Children’s Games, a search for local talent to complement the athletic competition has begun.
The call for songwriters, lyricists, musicians and producers officially went out February 11th and since then fifteen contestants have posted their ninety second theme songs with lyrics online at https://www.icg-windsoressex2013.com/phase_one_videos.
This portion of the talent contest provides an opportunity as phase one with a purpose of selecting the songwriter and lyrics which best reflect Windsor Essex and the ICG Games experience.
The winning song will be chosen by public vote through the website and announced on March 23rd.
Each participant submission includes lyrics and a basic melody with instrumentation and song structure featuring a verse bridge and chorus. The theme for the lyrics creatively encompass the ICG Games legacy program entitled “In Sport WE Are One”.
The theme song adopts the values of fair play practiced in sport competition and will be a musical inspiration to provide a soundtrack to be showcased during the ICG Games and performed live at Opening Ceremonies to be held at the WFCU Centre August 15th.
