This fall, the University of Windsor will be celebrating its 50th anniversary, and a weekend full of celebration activities are planned for September 19th to the 22nd.

Preparations have started now and the University is looking to alumni for help with some of the celebrations.

If you attended the University, they’re particularly looking for photos from the time you spent there. The University says to email copies of those photos to [email protected] with your name, degree, year of graduation, and a brief description. They will be posting the photos on the University’s website leading up to the celebration weekend.

The University is also looking for memorabilia for historic displays. If you have an item such as a yearbook, athletic jersey, textbook, lab equipment, etc that you would like to lend, email a photo to [email protected] for consideration.

A classic car show is also being planned where visitors will they will be able to stroll down Sunset Avenue, viewing automotive history and leading to history in the making at the Centre for Engineering Innovation, where students will display new and developing technologies. Organizers are looking for cars representing five periods—up to 1949, the 1950s, the 1960s and ’70s, the 1980s and ’90s, and the 2000s.

For more information on how to participate, contact Katherine Simon at 519-253-3000, ext. 4052.
