A 17-year-old from Windsor was arrested after breaking into several cars in early this morning,
Police say that around 3:40am, a resident was awoken by the sound of breaking glass in the 2300 block of Glenwood Avenue. When she looked out her window she saw two males in dark clothing on bikes near a car which had its side window smashed out.
Police were called and the first officer on scene saw tire tracks from two bicycles in the snow. The officer started following the tracks and when the suspects spotted the officer, they took off and ran from her in a westerly direction, dumping their bicycles.
The K9 unit was called and began to track the suspects. A male was found walking on Huron Church by other responding police units.
The male was questioned and police say he appeared out of breath, was nervous and evasive with his answers and that led them to believing he was one of the two suspects wanted in connection to the break ins. The suspect was found to have some property from the cars he broke into.
Police say that in total four cars had been broken into and other stolen property has yet to be located and may be in the hands of the second, yet to be located suspect.
