Windsor police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that took place in Downtown Windsor.

Police say this early this morning, they were called to Windsor regional Hospital where they spoke with a 17-year-old female who indicated that she was sexually assaulted.

The victim indicates that she was at a downtown nightclub and that the assault occurred in the woman’s rest room. The victim provided police with the name of the accused. The location of the assault has been secured by police for expert forensic examination.

At approximately 3:55am Windsor Police attended an address in the 11000 block of Rockland Street.  A 18-year-old resident was arrested without incident for sexual assault. He is expected to appear in court later this afternoon.
