A suspect has been arrested in relation to a bank robbery at the CIBC Bank in LaSalle on February 28th.

LaSalle Police say that they received vital information from the Canada Border Services Agency in Windsor identifying a possible suspect from the bank robbery. 

Officials say that their investigation was aided by the fact that the suspect had been arrested and detained on March 1st by Canada Border Services Agency for an Immigration violation and hearing in Toronto.

On March 4th LaSalle officers travelled to Toronto and took custody of the suspect.

Police also executed a search warrant at a Windsor residence and seized evidence related to the investigation.

Jefrey Ssekawunde, age 26 years of Windsor, is charged with numerous criminal charges including robbery and he is in custody in Windsor awaiting arraignment on the charges.
