This Saturday, St. Clair College will hold its semi-annual Open House just in time for those making final decisions regarding post secondary education for September.

All programs offered at the College will be on display, and students will be able to talk to professors, tour the campus and find out about the wide variety of student support services available. The College has also introduced a new varsity athletics scholarships program that will help varsity athletes with their tuition.

As well, a number of employers will be on hand to talk about the industries they represent including people who work in energy, fashion design, interior design, skilled trades sector as well as someone from the City of Windsor. Two people from local media outlets will also be available to talk to students at the Downtown MediaPlex.

“It’s important for students to hear, first hand, from employers about the working environment, job opportunities and expectations”, says Veronique Mandal, Coordinator of the Journalism program. “Students looking to work in the media as a journalist will find that the skills they learn here are very relevant to today’s world of convergence journalism”.

A highlight of the tour of the MediaPlex will be a live, 30 minute show, broadcast on TV Cogeco. The show will run from 1 to 1:30pm and will contain interviews with students, the faculty, and prospective students who have come to check out the high tech facility.

The College is launching a number of new programs for September including Pre-Service Firefighter, Fashion Design, Media Convergence and Paralegal.

The open house runs from 10am to 1pm at all campuses in Windsor and Chatham.
