A woman celebrating her 23rd birthday last night got an unexpected gift from Windsor Police: impaired driving charges.

Police say that the woman was driving her 2002 Oldsmobile in the 1600 block of Langlois around 8:30 this morning when she lost control and drove into a parked 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The woman then tried to leave the scene and was arrested quickly. At Police headquarters she was given a breath test which resulted in her having two times the legal limit of alcohol in her system.

She is facing charges of impaired driving, exceeding the breathalyzer limit and driving while under suspension.

She was not injured. The damage to her car was estimated at $5,000 dollars; the Dodge sustained an estimated $2,000 dollars.
