For the second consecutive year, the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918)’s Art In The Park has been named one of the top 100 events of its kind in Ontario.
“One year ago, we were absolutely elated when Festivals and Events Ontario named Art In The Park one of the 100 top festival events in the province”, Renee Pare, Chair of Art In The Park 2013 said on receiving the news over the weekend. “Lightning, it would appear, does indeed ‘strike twice’. We’re extremely proud to win this coveted recognition for a second year in a row. It’s wonderful news as we prepare for this year’s event”.
The 35th annual Art In The Park will be held on the grounds of Willistead Park on June 2nd and 3rd. For over 20,000 plus guests, Art In The Park marks the start of the summer event season.
Proceeds from Art In The Park support a number of the Rotary Club of Windsor 1918’s projects, including the Children’s Safety Village, the John McGivney Children’s Centre, Maryvale Adolescent and Family Services, and of course a large share of our proceeds support the ongoing restoration of Willistead Manor.
Other local festivals in the top 100 are The Tecumseh Corn Festival, the LaSalle Strawberry Festival, the Shores of Erie International Wine Festival ,and the Tecumseh Art of Eating Festival. Two local Christmas festivals also made the top 100. Amherstburg River Lights Festival and the Kingsville Fantasy of Lights.
