The Montreal Jazz enjoyed victory for the first time in 18 games this season, stopping the Windsor Express 104-98. Despite 42 points in the fourth quarter, Windsor couldn’t close the gap and dropped the first of three straight games in Montreal.
The Express took a 25-17 lead after the first quarter, but saw that advantage dwindle away in the second, being outscored 27-17 and going into the locker room down 46-42 at halftime.
Darren Duncan led the charge for Windsor with 24 points and 7 assists. Player of the Week, Chris Commons had 20 points and Kevin Loiselle scored a double-double with 17 points and 11 boards, playing in his home town.
The Express and Jazz tip-off tomorrow and Saturday night at 7pm.
The Express next play at home on January 18th against last year’s runner-up champions, Halifax Rainmen at 7pm.
