Four people have been arrested after they allegedly beat a man with a baseball bat and stabbed him in his lower back.

Windsor Police were called to an apartment building in the 2000 block of University Avenue West just after 3am this morning and found the 22 year old victim seated on the bottom of the stairs in the vestibule of the building with a towel wrapped around his head. The male had suffered a significant wound to his head after being beaten with a bat and was bleeding heavily.

The victim was transported to hospital with a large cut on his head. He also suffered a small puncture wound to his lower back that Police believe is a stab wound. The victim told Police he recalled seeing a knife in one of his attackers hands. His injuries are not life threatening.

Police say several suspects got into a vehicle and fled the immediate area. The vehicle was observed by police travelling East on Tecumseh Road West in the area of Bruce Avenue. The vehicle was stopped at in the 2200 block of Charl Avenue by several police units.

Three males and 1 female in the vehicle aged 28, 49, 43, and 21 respectively, were placed under arrest for Assault Causing Bodily Harm without incident. The suspects are expected to appear in court this afternoon.

Police say that the suspect vehicle, a G.M.C. pickup truck, was stolen from the 6000 block of Tecumseh Rd E.
