Legendary Hockey Heros Face Essex County OPP In Hockey Match, Sunday

The Essex County OPP will play their 12th Annual OPP Charity Hockey game, OPP vs. The Legendary Hockey Heros, this Sunday.

The Legendary Hockey Hero’s team will consist of Eddie Mio, Bryan Trottier, Mike Krushelnyski, Dave Mcllwain, Gary Leeman, Todd Warriner, Kraig Nienhuis, Marcel Dionne, Dan Daoust, Tom Fergus and referee Ron Hogarth.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to WE Care for Kids.  This is a local charity that raises money to purchase equipment for paediatric care at hospitals in Leamington, Windsor and the John McGivney Centre. Since the first such game in 2002, approximately $235,000 has been donated to WE Care for Kids from this annual event.

The first 500 kids, 14 and under will receive free pizza and other snacks. Everyone over 16 years of age is automatically entered into a draw for a chance to win a new car playing Score-O.

Advanced tickets for the game can be purchased at Wal-Mart in Leamington, Scotiabank in Leamington, the Sports Den, Bowman Sports, Source for Sports and at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex for $5. Tickets at the door on the night of the game are $10.

Game time is 6pm at the Kinsmen Recreation Complex, located at 249 Sherk Street in Leamington.
