The Canada Post Distribution Facility on Grand Marais as seen in Google Earth

A hazardous materials scare has come to an end in South Windsor.

Windsor firefighters, EMS, Police and Hazmat crews were called to the Canada Post mail distribution facility on Grand Marais Road East after someone stumbled on a white powdery substance this morning.

The incident began around 8:30am. Employees were evacuated from the building.

Police and fire investigated and carefully examined the substance which turned out not to be hazardous.

Crews left the scene around 12:45pm.
