Artist? Learn To Expand Your Art As A Business

Creative Business is a workshop that is taking place next Saturday, that is geared to providing artists tools, tips and resources for starting, flourishing and expanding their business/product.

Presentations on succeeding as an artist in today’s market, discussions with local established artist, taxes, copyright and trademark issues are all part of the day long workshop.

All artists regardless of discipline and aspiring entrepreneurs, students, as well as established and non-established artists are all encouraged to attend.

The workshop will feature presentations by:

Bob Baksi a corporate commercial lawyer and Trade-mark Agent. He is Senior Counsel at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. and his law practice focuses on business matters including Intellectual Property issues particularly Trade-mark and Copyright.

Stephen Lutvak  a  chartered accountant. With his team of assistants and associates, Stephen operates a full service accounting and tax office offering services to both personal and business clientele. His firm also specializes in a full range of services for small business.

Diana Clinton who has been involved with Windsor’s art scene for the past 9 years, participating in art shows, craft shows, and planning well-attended events for the gallery she works at. Dianne crochets every day, making crafty gifts to sell in local storefronts, and is also confronted with wild commissions requested by family and friends (currently working on an anatomically correct heart pillow).

Kris Gene has graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from University of Windsor in 1997 and a Diploma of Crafts and Design from Sheridan College in 2002. After working two years in Toronto for Jeff Goodman studio, Kris started Tsunami glassworks In Windsor Ontario with his wife Eva Milinkovic in 2004. Currently, he holds the position of Creative and Technical Director at Tsunami Glassworks.

Cost is  $5 for ACWR members  and $10 for non members with lunch included.

Space is limited and organizers ask that you register  by 5pm January 17 to ensure your spot.
