A 17-year-old has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in the chest on New Years Eve.

Police were called to a house in the 600 block of Moy around 10:30pm on December 31st.

EMS personnel were on scene treating a man who had been attacked and beaten in the face, when they discovered that another man had been stabbed.

Police located a 20 year old male in the house who was suffering from a stab wound to the chest. The 20 year old stabbing victim was transported to hospital by ambulance. Police say the stab wound entered the right side of the victims chest and punctured his diaphragm and lacerated his liver.

Investigation has revealed that the 20 year old victim was hosting a party at his house when five unknown males came over and were causing problems.

When asked to leave, four of the men went outside and attacked a 21 year old. Police say this victim may have been hit in the head with a liquor bottle. The 20 year old host went to the front of the residence to break up the incident. Several of the suspects fled on foot. One of the males approached the 20 year old and struck him in the chest. Initially the victim thought that he had been punched. He saw that the male was holding a knife in his hand and realized that he had just been stabbed. The suspects fled the area.

The stabbing victim went back in the house until police arrived. Injuries to both males are considered to be non life threatening.

Windsor Police arrested a 17-year-old young person and charged the youth with Aggravated Assault and failing to comply with conditions including a 7pm – 7am curfew.
