Gladstone near Wyandotte as seen in Google Earth

On Monday December 17th around 2:45pm, Windsor Police were dispatched to the 1400 block of Wyandotte Street East for a report of a person with a gun. The caller was indicating that the person was in the rear alley that runs East-West to the South of Wyandotte, and that the suspect attempted to rob her of her purse.

Several police units flooded the area in an attempt to locate the suspect with negative results. The 24 year old victim told police that she was at her vehicle that was parked in the rear of her apartment building. She was opening her passenger door when she felt someone tugging on her purse that was slung over her shoulder. When she turned, she observed a man behind her wearing a ski mask. He had her purse and was pulling on it.

The victim was holding the purse and the two were each pulling on it. The suspect suddenly reached behind his back and pulled out a black handgun. He pointed the gun at the victim and put it up to her chest. He was yelling at the victim and suddenly fled the area. He ran towards Gladstone Avenue and ran South on Gladstone. A police K-9 was utilized for a track with negative results. The victim returned to her apartment and called police. She was not injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as Male white, 25-35 years of age, 6′ tall with an average build. He was wearing dark jeans, black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on both sleeves. The weapon is described as a black long barreled handgun.
